Visa on Arrival Validity

A Visa on Arrival for Indonesia typically allows travelers to stay for up to 30 days. However, some countries may have shorter durations, so it’s crucial to confirm the specific terms for your nationality when applying. This visa is extendable, which means you can extend it for another 30 days at least 7 days before the initial visa expires.

Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for a Visa on Arrival for Indonesia online

1. Check Eligibility
First, make sure your country of citizenship is eligible for a VoA. Visit the official website of the Indonesian government or your nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date information.

2. Prepare Required Documents

  • A passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.
  • A digital passport photo
  • Credit card to pay the Visa on Arrival fee
  • Address in Indonesia, e.g. the first hotel

3. Access Website
Go to the website, which is the official online platform for applying for a Visa on Arrival for Indonesia, and click on Apply.

4. Fill out the questionaire

  • Enter your home country
  • For “The main purpose of my visit to Indonesia is”, select “General, Family, Social”
  • For “The sub purpose of my visit to Indonesia is” select “Tourism, Family Visit, Transit”
  • For “I want to explore & choose a visa”, select “Visa on Arrival 30 days”
  • For “I am planning to stay” select “30 days”
  • The B213 visa will be issued, which is the official name of the Visa on Arrival.Click on “Detail & Apply” to open an info pop-up with information about the visa. Click on Apply.

5. Fill out the visa application
The next step is to upload a photo of your passport and a passport photo of yourself. Then click on Next.

A pop-up will appear with information taken from your passport. If this information is incorrect, you can change it in the next step. Click on Yes.

Now you have to fill in further personal details and enter an address in Indonesia. This could be your hotel, for example. Pay particular attention to the issue date of your passport. The current date is automatically entered here.

This is followed by a summary of your details. You must tick some of the boxes.

Tip: Sometimes nothing happens when you click on a button. In this case, it helps to wait a few moments.

6. Pay the Visa Fee
Once you have submitted your application, an overview of your application will appear. You can submit another application here. Alternatively, click on Submit here.

You will then be asked to pay the visa fee. Follow the instructions to finalise the payment. Accepted payment methods are Visa, Mastercard, JCB network or Visa debit card. Some guests have reported problems with payment. It helps trying with multiple credit cards.

7. Confirmation and Approval
As soon as your application and payment have been processed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. This email contains your visa document, so keep it safe.

8. Arrival in Indonesia
This visa must be used within 90 days from the date of issue. Upon arrival in Indonesia, proceed to the Visa on Arrival counter at the airport. Present your passport, the Visa on Arrival approval, and the necessary documents. The immigration officer will then issue your VoA, allowing you to enter the country.

Note: The possibility to apply for the Visa on Arrival for Indonesia online is still relatively new. Some travellers report that the website sometimes does not work or the credit card is not accepted. It can be helpful to try different credit cards or on different days. Visa on Arrival for Indonesia Extension online

If you have applied for your VoA online, you can also extend this visa one time for another 30 days on the evisa website. Your data is already recorded in the immigration system, so you don’t need to upload proof of entry from your passport when you apply for the eVoA extension.

1. Login to website
You received login credentials during your initial VoA application. For the VoA extension log in to the website evisa.imigrasi.go.id, click on the ‘Extend’ button and follow the instructions listed. Make sure all the data entered is correct.

2. Make payment
The VoA extension costs another 30$. Payments can be made with Visa, Mastercard, JCB network, or Visa debit card.

3. Confirmation and Approval
After the payment is done, you will receive an eVoA document to your given email address.
